The highly anticipated pan-India sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD, recently held a grand pre-release event at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The event captivated audiences with a dazzling introduction of the film’s unique robot character, Bujji, and its lead protagonist, Bhairava, played by the beloved actor Prabhas. Prabhas himself took center stage, sharing insightful anecdotes and expressing his gratitude to the film’s team.

In a lighthearted exchange, Prabhas playfully addressed director Nag Ashwin, questioning the brevity of the teaser trailer revealed at the event. He remarked, “Three years of collaboration, and all we get is a 50-second glimpse? What’s this sir?” Despite the playful jab, Prabhas went on to praise Ashwin’s vision, acknowledging the director’s ability to keep the audience captivated for the past three years.

The true highlight of the event, according to Prabhas, was the opportunity to work alongside legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. He expressed his deep respect and admiration, stating, “A hundred salutes to Kamal sir! Thank you, thank you, sir. Amitabh and Kamal sir are beacons of inspiration for the entire nation. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to share screen space with them.” Prabhas elaborated on his childhood fascination with Kamal Haasan’s work, specifically mentioning his awe for Haasan’s performance in the film Sagarasangam. He shared a humorous anecdote about his childhood desire to mimic Haasan’s on-screen movements.

Prabhas further acknowledged the talented cast, including the global icon Deepika Padukone and the rising star Disha Patani. He also commended the film’s producer, Ashwini Dutt, for his unwavering dedication to quality cinema and his courage in supporting ambitious projects. Prabhas expressed his appreciation to Nag Ashwin for bringing the character of Bujji to life and concluded his speech with a heartfelt thank you to the entire team. Staying true to his charming personality, Prabhas jokingly responded that the reason for his bachelor status lies with the heartbroken girls who reacted to the tweet. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is an epic science fiction film inspired by Hindu mythology. Prabhas portrays the lead role of Bhairava. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 27, 2024.
