The peaceful town of Tuni in East Godavari district turned violent when several protesting agitators pelted stones at the Ratnachal Express and later torched it, much to the horror of hundreds of passengers at the Tuni railway station yesterday.
The unruly protestors even attacked the railway staff and vandalized the Tuni Rural Police Station. Meanwhile, the police collected CCTV footage that gave them crucial evidences against those who caused the riots.
The cops also discovered that a majority of the protestors were from Guntur, Kadapa, Hyderabad and East Godavari districts and vowed to not leave anybody involved with the riots. The Cops are determined to file cases on each and every person who took part in the attacks.
The CCTV footage has been sent to the above said districts to identify the attackers. Shockingly, the CCTV footage revealed most of the attackers smiling and cheering as they went on with their horror.
There are also reports that a major political party has lent its support to the Kapu Aikya Garjana protest meet. Meanwhile, residents of Tuni are slowly getting back to normalcy under a strict vigil of the law enforcers and special troops which are deployed to bring the situation under control.
