Yesterday, former Kakinada MP and the crusader of the Kapu Aikya Garjana Mudragada Padmanabham gave an ultimatum to Chandrababu Naidu saying that he will sit for a fast unto death along with his wife from today evening if the government fails to pass a GO assuring the inclusion of Kapus in the BCs within 24 hours.
However, in a press meet this afternoon, Mudragada said that he is postponing his fast unto death for 4, 5 days until the situation is back to normalcy. The senior leader said he resorted to the Kapu agitation as his final fight with the government after his constant appeals to include Kapus in BCs have been ignored by the Babu government.
Speaking to the media, Mudragada expressed his dissent over the unruly violence which took place in Tuni yesterday. The leader said such anger from the protestors could have avoided had there were assurances on their demand for BC reservation.
Mudragada also said that with this demand, Kapus will not eat up the reservations of other backward classes and that he is only demanding for a government order resuming the BC reservation for Kapus, which was in vogue during the 60s.
Mudragada also refuted the allegations that the Kapu agitation is politically motivated and said that his fight is devoid of any political colour.
