Indian Premiere League, the biggest cricket virus that attacks India every year. Many happening states had their own IPL teams owned by some sort of celebs. Now that Telugus are divided into two states the existing Sunrisers Hyderabad automatically got limited to the luxurious state of Telangana.
In the last season of IPL, this team hasn’t got huge applause from people in Andhra due to the betterment the bifurcation has created. Many observers felt the need for an IPL team from AP such that cricket lovers will feel happy.
With the scene demanding a new IPL team to be incarnated, many wondered who is going to create and invest crores of rupees on a team. Even the Sunrisers team of Hyderabad doesn’t belong to any Telugu guy or Telangana guy but it is owned by a neighbouring state’s leading media company. Let’s shift our spot light on to AP for now, and we found certain interesting things.
Reports have that Mahesh wants to invest in a IPL team which has Vizag as its operation centre. There is a proposal for one team named ‘Vizag Sixers’ and our star hero along with couple of other industrialist partners is heard taking stakes in it.
Though the name of his brother in law Galla Jayadev is also being heard, being an MP of ruling party probably he won’t involve directly. With film stars like Sharukh Khan (Kolkata Knight Riders), Preity Zinta (Kings XI Punjab) and Shilpa Shetty (Rajasthan Royals) carving a shimmering show on IPL stage every year, we have to see if Mahesh Babu will join this league next year.
Due to the sensitivities between Telangana and Andhra, many worry if people in Hyderabad will bat for both Telugu teams, and what happens when a match is played between Vizag Sixers and Sunrisers Hyderabad? This is something quite exciting to see, but at the same time might provoke unnecessary reactions too.
