As per the current strength in the Assembly, TDP will get three Rajya Sabha seats and YSRCP will get one. Now Naidu is keen on getting all the four Rajya Sabha seats for himself.
This is possible if he can get more YSRCP MLA’s to defect to the TDP. But they will not do son unless they are promised ministries or something else.
Jaleel Khan and Bhuma Akhila Priya were reportedly promised cabinet posts in the TDP. Therefore, Chandrababu has decided to postpone the cabinet reshuffle until the Rajya Sabha elections are over.
As long as the reshuffle does not take place, more people from YSRCP can be lured to the TDP with the minister post being the carrot.
If the reshuffle takes place now, there would not be any further incentives for defecting to the TDP.
