Now that the union cabinet has approved financial assistance to Polavaram project in AP, the Telangana state legislative council on Wednesday witnessed an interesting discussion between Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister KCR.

Speaking in the house, the Congress party member demanded the state government to take back the four submerged villages that were included in AP as promulgated in ordinance. ‘Since AP doesn’t require those villages, let’s work together to bring them under Telangana state,’ said Mr. Reddy.

Answering to Sudhakar Reddy, CM KCR said, ‘after learning about the villages included in AP through ordinance bill will not get affected by Polavaram project, I have taken up the issue with Andhra Chief Minister and he too have responded quite positively.’ KCR also unveiled that he and Babu will put forward the issue with centre and seek their help for quick resolution.

It was in July 2014, Parliament passed an ordinance bill to transfer around 205 villages spread across 7 mandals in Bhadracharam, Khammam to Andhra Pradesh as part of rehabilitation and resettlement program of Polavaram project.
