YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy has recently declared that his party MPs would resign if Special Category Status (SCS) is not allowed to Andhra Pradesh by April 6.
Even though it was too late for the main opposition party in the state to make such move, some people nonetheless appreciated Jagan’s effort and thought he was really serious on achieving SCS. The same people are now shocked to learn Jagan’s very understanding of the SCS.
A video of Jagan’s latest interview has gone viral in which he is seen saying, ‘AP people don’t have to pay ‘Income Tax’ if the state gets Special Status’. Is this the understanding he has of the SCS? How foolish it is to link Income Tax and SCS? etc. sort of questions are being shot by rational netizens on social media.
Either Jagan may have slipped his tongue or he might really not have an idea of how Special Category benefits a state, but the viral video has invited unlimited trolling. Some people even ranked him in the league of ‘B.Com Physics MLA’.
Political analysts on the other hand say that Jagan’s false statements may mislead public. ‘Ever since his Padayathra began, Jagan has been making similar unrealistic promises and giving misleading statements’, they added.
