Delhi Scare: Rape Averted In the Last Minute

Minor

What could have been tragic repeat of last year’s Uber rape incident has been successfully averted thanks to an alert worker of a PCR van and a pedestrian in Delhi’s Dwaraka area. A taxi driver named Ramesh was caught sexually abusing a woman passenger after a filmy chase and then handed over to the police.

On Thrusday night at 10:30 pm, a woman who works at a shopping mall in Rajouri Garden, stepped out of the Dwaraka Metro Station and took a taxi to Madhu Vihar. However, after driving the cab for a while, the driver parked the vehicle at a secluded place, got into the back seat and forced himself onto the lady and tried to disrobe her clothes.

The brave lady resisted but the driver punched her on her head and face and threatened her with life if she shouted. However, the lady kept on shouting and the driver started the car and drove towards Madhu Vihar. Alerted by her cries, a pedestrian alerted a PCR van nearby and the police chased down the car and nabbed the culprit.

The victim has been sent to a hospital for medical examination and the cops filed a case under sections 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation).
