The recent encounters carried out by the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state police are drawing several protests from political parties in Tamil Nadu and human rights organizations. The National Human Rights Commission even sent notices to the AP Chief Secretary and DGP asking to explain them about the encounters.

Countering this, the BJP firebrand and senior politician M Venkaiah Naidu criticized the human rights organisations’ hypocrisy. The Union Minister of Urban Development said in a media interaction on Saturday, that the human rights organizations only protest when the state’s forces retaliate on terrorists and red sandal smugglers but remain silent when the policemen are killed by them.

Venkaiah Naidu also questioned the human rights organizations whether the policemen who died while performing their duties not have human rights. Naidu also lashed out at the MIM leaders and asked them why were they silent when the terrorists killed the policemen. Meanwhile, the AP government is yet to submit its report to the Nation Human Rights Commission.
