YSRC MPs Ready To Quit, Get Nod For Fasting

The Andhra Pradesh government has given permission to YSR Congress party MPs to undertake indefinite fast on the premises of Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi from Friday afternoon.

The YSRC MP would submit their resignation letters to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan soon after the House gets adjourned.Friday happens to be the last day of the budget session of the Parliament and it is most unlikely that the no-confidence motion comes up for discussion.

So, there is every possibility that the House gets adjourned sine die without conducting any business.Soon after submitting their resignations, the YSRC MPs would go to AP Bhavan in a rally and sit there for indefinite hunger strike.

Though initially, the AP Bhavan authorities were reluctant to give permission on the ground that it might cause inconvenience to other visitors, they had to succumb to the pressure of the Opposition MPs, who argued that even TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, when he was in the Opposition in the past, sat on a dharna in AP Bhavan.

Moreover, the TDP government felt that any hurdles to the YSRC MPs would only fetch additional political mileage to them.“In any case, this fast unto death might not continue for many days, as they would be shifted to hospital sooner or later.

Except one or two, all the others are above 60 years and would not be able to withstand for a long time. In any case, the Centre is not going to succumb to their pressures,” a TDP leader observed.
