Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 successor in the offing? Redmi Note 4 may arrive soon

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is still going strong in the Indian market, but its successor dubbed as the Redmi Note 4 is said to be on its way. It has now emerged that the upcoming handset will come with several feature upgrades over its predecessor, including a much larger screen.The Chinese smartphone maker hasn’t revealed any detail about the Redmi Note 4, but GizmoChina has reported, citing a post by Weibo user by the name Said Yang Feng Technology, that the device will be released soon and described it as “oversized,” giving a clear hint that it will be bigger than the 5.5-inch seen in the Redmi Note 3. It went on to say that the handset could be launched by the end of the summer.

The new report contradicts claims made by Chinese website MyDrivers that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will sport a 5.5-inch display and a 13MP main camera as seen in the Redmi Note 3. It went on to claim that the device will come in two variants — one to be powered by a Helio P10 octa-core processor and the other by a Helio X20 deca-core SoC by MediaTek.It was also reported that the new Note device will be powered by a Snapdragon 652 processor, comes packed with a 16GB internal memory and a 3GB RAM, and houses a battery with fast charge technology.

It may be mentioned that the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 comes in two variants — a 16GB internal memory and 2GB RAM model priced at Rs. 9,999, and a 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM variant with a price tag of Rs. 11,999. It has a metal-body, features a finger-print sensor, measures 150x76x8.7 mm in dimension, weighs 164 g, and sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080×1,920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density).

Under the hood, the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, an Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system, a 16MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 4,000mAh battery. The device also supports dual-SIM slots (nano+micro), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, GPRS, A-GPS, FM Radio, micro-USB, USB OTG, VoLTE (Voice-over-LTE) HD voice and video call.
