Telugu films have been inspiring many filmmakers across the country and films like Baahubali turned out to be show stealers across all the Indian markets. Bollywood too is quite focused on Telugu films and many filmmakers have been acquiring the remake and dubbing rights even before the films hitting the screens.
However Tollywood heroes have not been highly successful when it came to bilinguals. While Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna made it a safe game, Nagarjuna tasted a massive debacle with Rakshakudu which released in Telugu and Tamil in 1990.
For the first time Superstar Mahesh Babu is testing his luck with a bilingual titled Spyder. Tamil director AR Murugadoss helming the film is a huge advantage for the film and a top Tollywood actor trying his luck with a bilingual never happened in the recent years. It turned out to be a firm belief that bilinguals are not lucky for top actors and hence most of the actors never wanted to take risk.
The recent audio event of Spyder in Chennai turned out to be a massive hit and the makers are quite confident on the film’s success. Mahesh is keen on promoting the film much in Tamil and we have to wait and see if Mahesh breaks the box and scores a massive hit with Spyder.
