After erstwhile Speaker Meira Kumar had suspended Andhra MPs in the last session of 15th Lok Sabha and passed AP Reorganization Act 2014 – making Telangana state a reality – despite huge din in the House back then with then members surrounded the Speaker podium, the present Speaker Sumitra Mahajan in 16th Lok Sabha has done vice versa by not admitting No-Confidence Motion “referring” to the protests of AIADMK MPs.
By this, it is yet again proved that the Indian parliamentary practice has become “friendly” to the ruling party and its allies. This game-plan of Narendra Modi has become successful since Speaker didn’t allow the discussion on the No-Confidence Motion moved by the TDP, other opposition parties.
This is not all. TDP MPs, who felt agitated for not taking up their issue, has decided that they would not leave Lok Sabha. They continued protests inside Lok Sabha even after Speaker announced of Sine Die of the House. Shockingly, the security personnel have allegedly told the protesting TDP MPs that the Speaker wants to talk to them and had invited them to her Chamber. Hopeful TDP MPs who moved out of Lok Sabha to meet Speaker learnt that it was just a trick to bring the MPs out of House.
The security personnel have “immediately” closed the doors of Lok Sabha. This is not all. TDP MPs who went to Speaker’s office learnt that the Speaker Sumitra was not there and she had already left by then. TDP MPs, who are already feeling ignored inside house, are now said to be feeling “insulted” by Speaker.
