Over the past 4, 5 years, ‘Sweety’ Anushka has been toiling herself in extremely strenuous shoots that demanded her to perform heavy-duty action sequences involving swords and other heavy machinery for films like Varna, Baahubali and Rudhramadevi etc.Even though Anushka did the light-hearted romantic entertainer Size Zero, it was no less challenging as she had to put on a lot of weight to look obese. It was before Size Zero’s release that Anushka stated that she will not do anymore female-centric films from here on so she would not feel the pressure of carrying the entire film on her shoulders.
This was the main reason why Anushka said a firm ‘no’ to another female-centric film Bhagmati after much dilly-dallying. The project, which was to be produced by UV Creations under Pilla Jamindar director Ashok, was considered to be shelved since nothing was heard about it for a long time.
However, Anushka surprised everyone by launching the film yesterday with the same team. This made everyone wonder about what might have forced Anushka to change her mind. Varna was a colossal flop and it was Prabhas, Rana and Tamannaah who hogged all the limelight of Baahubali.
Even though Anushka was lauded for her hardwork in Rudhramadevi, the film’s box-office result didn’t give her the expected thrill. Then came the disastrous Size Zero which bombed on day 1 itself. Seeing all her hardwork over the past few years going down the drain, Anushka might have again decided to score a solid hit and that might have prompted her to revive Bhagmati. Let’s hope she gets the desired success with this film at least.
