Is Nani Dropping Out From Those Two Projects?

June 1, 2024

Natural Star Nani, a prominent figure in South Indian cinema, has established himself as a versatile performer. After captivating audiences with his contrasting roles in last year’s “Dasara” and “Hi Nanna,” Nani is currently focused on the upcoming film “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram,” directed by Vivek Athreya. This action-comedy is slated for release on August 29th, 2024, with DVV Danayya serving as the producer and Priyanka Arul Mohan playing the female lead.

However, speculation surrounds two of Nani’s previously announced projects. The first involves director Sujeeth, known for films like “Run Raja Run” and “Saaho.” DVV Danayya, initially attached as the producer, reportedly opted out due to budgetary constraints. While there are rumors of another major producer taking over, whispers suggest Nani himself might shelve the project due to Sujeeth’s busy schedule with other commitments.

The second project in question is a collaboration with director Venu, who rose to prominence with the comedy “Balagam.” Venu reportedly crafted a rural entertainer titled “Yellamma,” with Dil Raju expressing interest in producing it. However, reports indicate Nani might not be entirely satisfied with the final script, potentially leading to the project’s postponement.

Despite these speculations, Nani has confirmed projects on the horizon. One is an action-drama with director Srikanth Odela, who helmed “Dasara,” and will be produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri. Additionally, sources hint at a potential collaboration with acclaimed Tamil director TJ Gnanavel (“Jai Bhim”) in 2025, who is currently working with Rajinikanth.

While official announcements regarding the status of the Sujeeth and Venu projects are awaited, the buzz in media circles suggests potential delays or cancellations. Nonetheless, Nani’s commitment to his upcoming film “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram” and confirmed future projects solidify his active presence in the South Indian film industry.
