Unlike the previous deepfake in November 2023, where the perpetrator remains unidentified, the culprit this time appears to be Colombian model Daniela Villarreal. Ms. Villarreal reportedly edited her own Instagram reel to seamlessly integrate Ms. Mandanna’s face. This act of inserting a celebrity’s likeness into compromising content underscores the ethical dilemmas posed by deepfakes in the digital age.
While Ms. Mandanna has yet to publicly address this specific incident, it serves as a stark reminder of her vulnerability to such attacks.
