‘Tie Hands, Legs of Voters And Bring Them To Vote For BJP’

Ex CM of Karnataka and the BJP’s CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa has made shocking comments in poll-bound Karnataka during the election campaign. He has asked the party workers, supporters to “tie up the hands, legs” of people and “bring them” to vote for the BJP.

“Don’t rest now. If you think that somebody is not voting, go to their homes, tie up their hands and legs and bring them to vote in favour of Mahantesh Doddagoudar,” Yeddyurappa was quoted as saying. Mahantesh Basavantrai Doddagoudar is none other than the BJP candidate from the Kittur constituency.

Yeddyurappa’s comments have stroked a controversy already. Congress has come down heavily on Yeddyurappa’s ‘tie up’ remarks and alleged BJP of threatening voters. “A defeatist BJP facing rejection at the hands of Kannadigas is threatening voters in frustration. Mr. Yeddyurappa, insulting democracy & intimidating voters will trounce the BJP decisively,” said Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.

Congress is now planning to complain against Yeddyurappa to Election Commission as his comments are against the rules of the EC.
