Six-day complete lockdown in Delhi from tonight: CM Arvind Kejriwal

Amid a worrying rise in Coronavirus cases in Delhi, the Arvind Kejriwal government on Monday has taken a crucial decision to impose a six-day complete lockdown in the national capital.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a six-day lockdown from April 19 night to April 26 morning amid the crumbling Covid-19 situation. The restrictions will remain in place from 10 PM tonight till 5 AM next Monday.

However, all necessary services and emergency personnel in the state will be spared from the restricting orders. The government also specified that government offices will be opened and all private offices need to direct their employees to work from home during the imposed curfew.

As per reports, Delhi has been seeing an exponential rise in Covid-19 cases. On Sunday, the state recorded its biggest daily jump in coronavirus tally, with 25,462 new cases and a high positivity rate of 29.74%.
