Samsung Galaxy C5 release date, features: Launch imminent as it clears FCC

Samsung appears set for the release of its two mid-range devices, the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7, from the new C series. The Galaxy C5 has been cleared by a couple of telecommunication authorities and seen on Bluetooth SIG for certification, giving a clear hint that its launch is not far off.The South Korean technology giant is expected to unveil the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 in China on May 26. Reports have claimed that the devices will be released exclusively for Chinese market, but a device with model number SM-C5000, believed to be the Galaxy C5, has been spotted on Zauba website that tracks imports and exports in India, hinting that it could be launched outside China.

The Galaxy C5 (SM-C5000) has now being cleared by Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to TimesNews. This has paved the way for the release of the device. It was earlier cleared by China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center, TENAA, and was spotted on Bluetooth SIG for certification.

According to Chinese website MyDrivers (via SamMobile), the Galaxy C5 will come with features like a 5.2-inch screen with FullHD 1,920x1080p display resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a 4GB RAM, a 32/64GB internal storage, a 16MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP front-snapper, an Ultra High Quality Audio (UHQA), and a 2,600mAh battery. It added that the device will come with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (around $246).
