In a move to encourage teachers working in government schools to work hard and get good results, Telangana government announced sarees endorsed by film actress Samantha as gifts to those who excelled in their duties.
Samantha has been appointed as Telangana Ambassador to promote handloom sarees in world market.
Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said the famous handloom woven Golla Bhama sarees will be presented to women headmistress if their school got 100 per cent results.
The Minister also announced government will present Rs 1 lakh cash prize to schools that stand at the top at State level. He will also present Rs 10,116 cash prize to 10 best schools in his native Siddipet district.
