Looks like, it’s raining remakes in Telugu. Telugu filmmakers are in rush to remake Tamil films. While Ram Charan’s Dhruva (Thani Oruvan in Tamil), Chiranjeevi’s Kathilantodu (Kaththi in Tamil) are in making and actors like Pawan Kalyan prepping up for Vedhalam remake and many other stars are in pipeline to star in remakes, now it’s the turn of Akkineni hero Naga Chaitanya.
Buzz is Chaitu is toying with the idea of doing another Tamil remake in Telugu. Chaitu is contemplating to remake Metro in Telugu. The talks are in nascent phase and if all goes as per the plan, Chaitu would reprise the role of Shirish played in the original. Billed to be a crime thriller, the film deals with the concept of chain snatching and how the protagonist takes revenge against chain snatcher who killed his mother in fit of rage and snatched her chain.
The film made in a shoe-string budget went onto become sleeper hit in Tamil. Apparently, Chaitu is hinting at few changes in the script to suit the Telugu nativity. And the talks are still going on and yet to be finalised. Producer Ram Talluri, of Chuttalabbayi, has bought the Telugu remake rights. After Tadakha, this would be another Tamil remake for Chaitu.
