Sankranthi festival season is inarguably the most productive period for the Telugu film industry. Films released during this festive season perform decent to excellent irrespective of the word of mouth.
This year, we have seen Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No.150, Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni and Sharwanand’s Shatamaanam Bhavati hitting the screens within a gap 4 of days. Interestingly, all the three films have performed well as the festive mood and holidays helped them attract crowds.
However, from Tuesday, holidays are over, Schools reopened and people who had gone to their native places to celebrate the festival are back to Hyderabad. So, the real acid test for sustaining at the box office commences from today. Only the real crowd pleasers can pull audience to theatres in week days and we need to say which and how many of the three films can do this.
Khaidi No.150 needs another Rs 20 Cr at least and Gautamiputra Satakarni should amass Rs 10 Cr more to land the distributors into safe zone.
