Mythri Movie Makers is one of the most bankable production banners in Tollywood right now. They made a grand entry into the production business with ‘Srimanthudu’ and went on to produce blockbuster movies like ‘Janatha Garage’, ‘Rangasthalam’ and others with star heroes like Mahesh, Charan and NTR. They scored a pan-Indian super hit in the form of ‘Pushpa’ and are currently bankrolling ‘Pushpa 2’.
They produced two huge Sankranti releases ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ too. They are producing ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ right now with Pawan Kalyan. Recently, they opened an office in Nizam for distribution business. Their progress has stunned everyone and recent reports reveal that the IT officials even started conducting raids on the offices of this production banner. There are rumors suggesting foreign investment in the production house and politicians involved in it too. As per grapevine, there are suspicions of money laundering as well.
Along with Mythri Movie Makers, star director Sukumar’s house and office were also raided by government officials today. Apart from working on the huge project ‘Pushpa 2’, Sukumar is seeing unparalleled success as a producer lately. He co-produced hit movies like ‘Uppena’ and ’18 Pages’ lately. Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Virupaksha’ which is getting released this week is also co-produced by Sukumar’s banner and the star director penned the screenplay for it.
While some sources claim that the Income Tax department have conducted the raids, there are others who claim that the Enforcement Directorate is behind these. The GST officials have searched the MMM offices last December and there are reports arriving that they gather 700 crores from different sources. The official news is yet to come out and the news is just speculative as of now. But the sudden turn of events is making this quite interesting.
Currently, Sukumar and Mythri Movie Makers are working together on ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ which is being made on a huge budget. The pre-release business is expected to set new records and Allu Arjun fans waiting for this flick for a very long time. Let us wait and see what happens in the next few days.
