As per the media reports, producer VA Durai, who bankrolled one of the iconic films in Tamil cinema Pitamagan staged a protest outside director Bala’s office. The producer alleged that Bala did not keep the promise he made and which is why he is staging a protest.
It has been widely reported that Bala assured VA Durai that he will make a film with him as Pitamagan could not see box office success. To lock the film, VA Durai reportedly gave a cheque of Rs 10 lakhs for Bala. However, there is no update from Bala despite Durai asking many times.
However, Bala did not make any noise about the film. Durai’s financial status was not that good and he turned into an actor now. Having enough of waiting for the film, producer Durai reportedly asked Bala to give him back the advance. But Bala did not give any response reportedly.
With no option left, Durai decided to stage a protest outside Bala’s office. It is said that he was sent out of the office when he tried to demand the money he gave as an advance for the film. Reports say that the producers’ body spoke to the producer and made him leave the place.
Pithamagan tells us the story of a man who was born and brought up in a graveyard. The character is played by Chiyaan Vikram and Suriya played a con artist Sakthi. How the lives of the two change after their friendship form the main crux of the story. The film had an ensemble cast of Vikram, Suriya, Laila, and Sangeetha.
