Trivikram Srinivas: Retooling for the Future?
Trivikram Srinivas, the celebrated Tollywood writer-director, faces scrutiny after his latest film, “Guntur Karam,” failed to meet expectations. Critics found the story and execution lacking depth, with only Mahesh Babu’s performance salvaging the film to an extent. While an official announcement regarding his next project is awaited, reports suggest he is finalizing new scripts for actor Pawan Kalyan. This collaboration extends beyond writing, with Pawan reportedly trusting Trivikram to vet scripts from other directors and select the most promising ones. Industry insiders believe Trivikram played a key role in Pawan’s recent projects like “Vakeel Saab,” “Bro,” and “Bheemla Nayak,” all of which were remakes with Trivikram contributing the dialogues. He also greenlit the upcoming film “OG.”
With “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” slated for a late 2024 release and “OG” arriving in September, Pawan will have only “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” remaining in his active pipeline. Sources claim Trivikram has already prepared two new scripts for Pawan, with shooting to commence upon Pawan’s return from his political commitments.
However, this news has caused concern among Pawan Kalyan’s fans. Many are unhappy with Trivikram’s recent script selections for Pawan, fearing a continuation of the remake trend. Public opinion suggests Trivikram should prioritize his own directorial career over script selection for Pawan.
