Social media is quite rampant and there is also a criticism that this has been spoiling today’s generation. But there is a very beneficial side to it if used wisely. Perhaps this incident will assert that. It is known news that Kashmir is currently reeling under the havoc of heavy floods.
Lakhs of people are getting stranded without proper contact. One among them was a pregnant lady whose house was surrounded by the flood water. While she had no way to come out, the lady’s sister got into Facebook and posted an SOS message on the Indian Army’s Facebook page listing out the details of her sister’s location.
As always, the army officers were prompt and they took this up immediately. A team was sent to the said location and the pregnant woman was rescued. While Facebook must be hailed for its effective reach, due credit must be given to the thousands of army officers and Jawans who are laying their lives down the line for our safety! Hats off Indian Army!!
