State high court reserved the judgment on the election of the IT minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah from the Janagaon constituency in 2009. arguments of both sides had concluded and the court reserved its judgment.
Ponnala contested as Congress candidate in 2009 and defeated the TRS candidate by 236 votes. However, the election official earlier declared that Kommuri won the seat by 44 votes and then corrected the announcement by stating that Ponnala won by 236 votes. Kommuri challenged this in the high court. Ponnala had appeared in the court several times. He even went to the Supreme Court where he received a flak.
The court continued to be heard in the high court. As Kommuri’s lawyer had also completed cross examination of Ponnala and the arguments on both sides had concluded, the high court reserved its decision on Tuesday.
