Analysis:
Rajkumar Hirani, the man behind critically acclaimed and commercially successful films like Munnabhai franchise & 3 Idiots, tests his luck this time with an out of the box film ‘PK’. The fact that it took him 5 years to deliver his next product after a hugely successful film (‘3 Idiots’) shows how much he is conscious about the fact that he can’t afford to make mistakes. His ability to deal with a serious issue and present it in a humorous manner need to be commended.
Soothing songs and Soulful background score create the mood required. Camera Work is remarkable. Dialogues by Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi are hilarious and meaningful as well. Choreography has been neat. Editing is perfect. Production Values are excellent. A good story with taut-screenplay has been taken to the next level with the finest performances of the cast and flawless contributions of technical team. ‘PK’ delivers what it promises!
Box Office: ‘PK’ gets 3rd biggest release ever for an Indian film after ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Kick 2’. ‘Dhoom 3’ is the highest grossing Indian film till date with All India nett of Rs 280 crore and Overseas gross of $27 million. Can Aamir shatter this mammoth record set by himself? Will PK be the first Indian film to join Rs 300 crore club in India and $40 million club in Overseas?
Verdict: Masterpiece!
