How should one rate the TDP’s performance?

How should one judge a political party that is in power? Simple! You compare the performance of the party against the promises it made in its election manifesto. Now, it would be unfair to expect every single promise to be fulfilled completely but at least the major ones should be.

In the case of the Telugu Desam Party, what were the promises made by them in 2014 and have they delivered? But there’s a problem for those who wish to check out the 2014 TDP manifesto on the Party’s website as it has been taken down.A foolish thing really because does the TDP think that their manifesto will not be available elsewhere? Besides, why remove the manifesto? Have they not fulfilled any of their promises?

Even then, they have the media capability to convince the people that all promises have been fulfilled. But forget about the past, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has come out with a slew of fresh promises at Ongole recently and here they are:

Laying the foundation for Ramayapatnam Port by the end of the year
Completing the first tunnel of Veligondi project by Sankranthi and the second tunnel in the next one year
Linking the rivers Godavari, Krishna, Vamsadhara, Penna and Nagavali
Establishing a food processing unit in Prakasam district
Constructing a steel plant at Kadapa if Centre exempts taxes for 10 years
Establishing a horticulture college and veterinary college at Kandukur
Bring industries to industrial corridor and NIMZ at Kanigiri

It is better to note these promises down as they may soon not be available anywhere on TDP websites.
