Generally after watching Nagarjuna and now Chiranjeevi in the most successful TV program, Kaun Banega Crorepati’s local version, one gets a big doubt.
Like these two big Telugu stars here, Surya, Prakash Raj and Arvind Swamy hosted Tamil version, Suresh Gopi in Malayalam and Puneet Rajkumar in Kannada, have hosted the local versions of this game show. But none has got the fame like Amitabh Bachchan, and even Shahrukh Khan too failed in Hindi version. Wonder why?
There are many discussions and comparisons about these stars and how they are doing when it comes to hosting KBC local version, Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, in Telugu. Of course, all the above said stars are very good actors as well and they too won many awards like Big B along with fame, money and craze. Some film critics, however, made an interesting comment that only the ‘need of money’ has made Megastar Bachchan a super hit.
“At the time of KBC, Amitabh Bachan was in neck deep financial troubles. His ABCL went bankrupt and he has to repay the loans at any cost. And when the show was offered to him, it was purely for money he took up and only it’s success would bring him a jackpot. So Big B made sure that his hosting is special, natural and terrific, such that the ratings would go up. And it happened. He got 20+ advertisement contracts post the first season and all debts cleared”, a critic commented.
Well, it sounds logical, as the likes of Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi didn’t have any such pressure and that’s why their hosting looks as if they just do some acting and leave, though millions are liking it.
