The meeting of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu with PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday has brought hopes for the people of successor state. Apparently, Mr Modi directed his officials to look into the matter of AP Reogranisation Act 2014 and asked them to implement all the promises mentioned in the division act. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was also part of the closed-door meeting.
Soon after the high-profile meeting in which Mr Naidu pressed Modi for granting Special Status to AP and a financial package, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told media, “Modi ji directed NITI Aayog team to look into the issue and asked them to fulfill all the promises mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act. Modi asked them to come up with a road map for the implementation of Act. NITI Ayog officials will be discussing the issue with officials of AP government.”
Mr Jaitley further stated that Union government is considering all necessary details related to granting Special Status to AP. Jaitley said that detailed discussions on the same are going on. He added that the financial aid from Centre to the Polavaram Irrigaion project would continue.
It’s learnt that Chandrababu Naidu sought Centre’s complete help till the truncated state comes to stable position. AP Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Finance chief secretary PV Ramesh too part of the meeting. Earlier, Mr Naidu met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
Both Rajnath and Venkaiah promised Mr Chandrababu of all sort of help from Centre to the state. However, Venkaih reportedly told Naidu that there few problems in granting Special Status to AP and said he’s trying his best for the implementation of promises. Assuring Naidu for the implimentation of AP Reorganisation Act, Venkaiah told Naidu to not to add political colours to Special Status issue.
On whole, Mr Naidu’s meeting with PM Modi and Union Ministers have brought back hopes for the people of AP. Looks like, good days are ahead.
