Movie :Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju
Rating:3/5
Cast: Sharwanand, Nitya Menen and Others
Directed by: Kranthi Madhav
Produced by: Vallabha

Release Date: 2015-02-06
Sharwanand’s previous film Run Raja Run was a decent hit at the box office which raised curiosity over his next film Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju. Nitya Menen did the female lead in this movie directed by Kranthi Madhav.
Story :
Raja Ram (Sharwanand) is an athlete who falls in love with Muslim girl Najeera (Nitya Menen). Raja Ram wins Gold Medal at National level and also wins the love of Najeera. However fate separates the couple for many years but their love remains unchanged.
Performances:
Sharwanand is wonderful in this film. He is a gifted actor who can do justice to any character. His determination as athlete, his sentiments as a doting son, his sincerity as lover can be felt. This is one of the finest performances we have seen in recent times.
Nitya Menen gets another author backed role and she is at her best. Nitya and Sharwa’s performances take this film to another level. Rest of the star cast has given good support to the lead cast.
Technicalities:
Kranthi Madhav deals with a matured love story in old fashioned style. Director keeps the film as pure as possible without any unnecessary deviations. He is very good at portraying the inner feelings of lovers and the result is sheer poetry on screen.
Music by Gopi Sunder is an asset. Cinematography complements the music and direction. Editing is fine. Dialogues are excellent. Producers should be lauded for making such an offbeat love story that may not appeal to today’s youth.
Thumbs Up:

Thumbs Down:
Too slow
Limited appeal
Analysis:
Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju is a coming of age love story that is backed up by splendid performances of the lead pair. But the film’s pace is painstakingly slow to the tastes of today’s audience. Director’s attempt to make a matured love story is laudable. However he should have also focused upon the commercial appeal of the film.
First half of the film is focused on the romance between Hindu boy and Muslim girl. The love story is dealt in a charming way. You will instantly fall in love with the lead pair for the purity in their characters. There is sports backdrop in the film that doesn’t interrupt the main plot at any point. Second half is content driven with solid emotions and touching dialogues.
Climax of the film is neatly done without any tragic ending. This matured love tale may seem boring to the audience who love to see fast paced entertainers. It will appeal to niche audience who love to watch matured love stories. Hope it does well at the box office too.
Verdict: Nitya and Sharwanand’s Show.
