Last night, Indian Cricket Team Skipper’s 35th century lead to a wrap-up ODI series of India’s South Africa tour with a 5-1 win. Post the match, the interesting speech delivered by Virat Kohli has grabbed the attention. He gave all the credit for his win to his loving wife Anushka Sharma. “My wife has been motivating me throughout. She deserves a lot of credit for this” said Kohli and also reminded about the criticism she faced in the past.
Back in 2014 and 2015, when Virat Kohli was doing poorly in his professional career, Indian fans started blaming Anushka for his bad performance. When Virat’s average was falling down and Indian Team has been suffering from failures, people taunted Anushka for it claiming that she is a bad luck. Even after Test series loss in South Africa, people blamed Anushka as Iron Leg for the loss. And now they got a slapstick-like answer.
Virat stated that Anushka is the reason behind his success. “She has been criticised a lot in the past. But she is the reason that kept me going and I am really grateful for that” concluded Virat. It really made the fans happy seeing the skipping backing up his wife and admiring her. Also, the Indian skipper became the first ever batsman to amass 500 runs in a bilateral ODI series.
Meanwhile, India registered their first-ever series ODI win against South Africa on South African soil in the history of Indian cricket.
