Telangana Chief Minister KCR is often accused of doing family politics in the state, as many major posts in the government, and in the cabinet, have been allotted to KCR’s family members, including to his son KTR, and nephew T Harish Rao. It is now being said that KCR is about to include his daughter Kavitha into his cabinet as well, which would draw a lot more criticism towards him if that turns out to be the case.
There has been talk of Kavitha being made a member of the cabinet ever since she was announced as the MLC candidate for Nizamabad local bodies constituency in March 2020 and won this election in October 2020, but the CM hasn’t yet made the move yet. Now that TRS MLA from Nizamabad rural constituency Bajireddy Goverdhan was made the chairman of TSRTC two days ago, speculations of Kavitha being made a part of the TS cabinet has once again gained prominence.
Given that KCR is criticised enough by opposition parties for giving major posts to his relatives, it is now to be seen if he would include his daughter in the TS cabinet and draw more criticism towards himself.
