Is this really called politics anymore?

The political life of a person is different than that of the personal life of a person. Politics is a profession that a person chooses to be in, and often chooses not to mix up his/her professional life with personal life, until and unless it adds some value. In the same way, political differences are not to be used against someone personally, and that fine line of dignity should always be maintained.

However, it looks as though one senior member of the YSRCP seems to have forgotten this fine line, and is going out of his way to personally attack his political rival. Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu is celebrating his birthday day, and wishes for his well-being are pouring from everywhere. A lot of trends are going on, on social media pages, and one of them includes #HbdTelugu420CBN.

Using this hashtag, YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy has wished Chandrababu and said that Chandrababu is celebrating his birthday in a different state as all of his offices in Andhra Pradesh have been closed down. He even directly called him a 420 in his tweet.

What’s interesting to remember here is that it is Vijaya Sai and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that are facing several charges in the CBI court, in their illegal assets case. Keeping this in mind, it’s a bit ironic that Vijayasai would call Chandrababu a 420. Yes, it is a given that Chandrababu is facing a few charges against the alleged insider trading in Amaravati, but it isn’t to the point where he needs to go to jail.

It is to be remembered that there have been several instances in the past when Jagan wished Chandrababu a very happy birthday, keeping aside their political differences. Chandrababu too very recently wished Jagan a very happy birthday, with utmost dignity. With Vijayasai now having done what he did, it raises the question of whether this should be the trend from here on.

While it is customary for the POlice department to arrest who so ever makes any comments on members of the YSRCP on social media, they are often deaf, dumb, and blind when the same happens to members of other parties. Whatever the future may hold for members of the YSRCP, in view of Vijayasai Reddy’s tweet today, it is very clear that he is now being attacked by the hundreds and thousands of tweets he is now getting, in response to his tweet, and those are most certainly very hard to deal with.
