Generally in politics, the ground level cadre as well as the local leaders are the heart and soul of a party. Though the high command is the face of the party, the people play an instrumental role in the party and the results will be decided by their active participation. Of course these local leaders can be influenced on the name of the region, religion, caste, supremo of the party etc but they are very vital.
Even TDP has survived so many years with some strong local leaders in all parts of the state but now the ruling YSRCP seems to have decided to put an end to the culture. Of course Jagan has obvious reasons to do so. There has been a clear lack of unity visible between the local leaders in the YSRCP. Number of clashes have been reported in the past few months.
On the other hand the Tirupati parliamentary by-polls are around the corner. In this context, what kind of candidate YCP is going to announce here has become a matter of interest. The news in circulating in the local media that the party seniors like Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy, Chittoor MP Reddappa and Rajampet MP Mithun Reddy are waiting for the opportunity,
It is being said that minister Peddireddy promised one of his local leaders the ticket. Some people would expect that the Tirupati MLA Bhoomina Karunakarreddy will be consulted before giving the ticket to any candidate. But, here comes the actual twist. The word is out that Jagan did not even say a word to anyone but finalised their candidate for the Tirupati by-poll battle.
It is learned that Jagan has decided to field Dr Gurumurthy from Hyderabad on behalf of the YCP in the Tirupati by-election. The connection between Dr. Gurumurthy and Jagan was strengthened during the pilgrimage. Gurumurthy, a physiotherapist, has been providing medical services to Jagan for over two years. Surely in this matter there is a point that Jagan is not trusting any leader who is local.
