Hyderabad’s own Taj Falaknuma palace has rung a world record as it’s been adjudged as the World’s Best Palace Hotel. Taj Falaknuma Palace has been ranked as the number one palace hotel in the world for 2015 by TripAdvisor.
The Falaknuma Palace was well-known for its historical significance. It was once the residence of the sixth Nizam Mir Mahboob Ali Khan (1869-1911). Today, it is owned by the Taj Group. Apparently, it took ten-long years for the Taj Group of Hotels to restore the palace and open it in 2010. The hotel has around 60 rooms. The regal architecture and opulence of the hotel is renowned as is its food, the paan ice cream is one of the specialities of this hotel.
This palace hotel also won the Conde Nast Traveller UK Readers’ Travel Award for being amongst the world’s best hotels and Travel plus Leisure India & South Asia’s India’s Best Heritage Hotel Awards 2015.
Thanks to its heritage, grandness, celebrities of various walks of life often visiting Falaknuma palace in the city. From Salman Khan to Virat, several stars have flocked to the heritage hotel. Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan was wedded to her fiance Aayush Sharma in a lavish ceremony last year. Cricketer Virat Kohli was seen spending quality time along with his girlfriend-actress Anushka Sharma on the eve of former’s birthday last year.
Politician and leader of Opposition for AP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy too was spotted in Dec 2014 along with his wife Bharathi, kids Harsha, Varsha as Jagan celebrated his wife Bharathi’s birthday. Entire Manchu family paid their visit and celebrated the third birthday of Vishnu and Viranica’s twin daughters Ariana, Viviana in 2014.
