Finally, after almost a decade of being in a relationship secretly, Hyderabadi badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap are all set to tie the knot on December 16. Saina and Kashyap had first met each other at their guru Pullela Gopichand Academy back in 2005.
The wedding ceremony will be a private affair with just about 100 guests. But a grand reception which will be held on December 21st will see the who’s who of the sport and entertainment worlds gracing the event and blessing the young couple.
Although there were reports in the past that both Saina and Kashyap were seeing each other, the duo have always maintained that they were just good friends and practice partners. To dodge the media glare, Saina and Kashyap always used to hangout with their badminton friends Gurusaidutt Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth.
Both Saina and Kashyap are Arjuna awardees. While Saina’s career best ranking was world number 1, Kashyap had placed himself at the number 6th spot in the Badminton World Rankings, before he had slowed down in his career due to constant injuries.
