South Indian star hero Suriya is showcasing his fantastic script selection lately. His last two films ‘Soorarai Pottru’ (Aakasam Nee Haddu Ra in Telugu) and ‘Jai Bhim’ which released directly on Amazon Prime Video turned out to be huge hits. They got millions of views and got terrific reviews from the critics. A lot of celebrities appreciated these films too and they got international recognition too. Both these films were selected for many international film festivals.
‘Jai Bhim’ has turned out to be the highest-user-rated Indian movie on IMDb as it topped the list by crossing Hollywood classics like ‘Shawshank Redemption’ and ‘The Godfather’. Recently, ‘Jai Bhim’ got a huge recognition on an international level and the entire team is over the moon with it.
The Oscars featured a complete scene from ‘Jai Bhim’ on their official Youtube channel. They even included the portions of the director TJ Gnanavel explaining the thought process behind this scene and making this movie. Suriya’s film is the first movie to achieve this feat as no other Tamil film managed to get featured on Academy’s official channel. ‘Jai Bhim’ has also entered the Golden Globes 2022 under the ‘Best Non-English Language Film’ category.
Currently, Surya is working under the Sun Pictures banner and he is also doing a film with acclaimed director Vetrimaaran.
