Highlights: Modi’s Non-Political Talk With Akshay

Yesterday, Bollywood’s action hero Akshay Kumar interviewed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a non-political and informal manner. It is unprecedented to see Modi being open about many things in his life. He spoke on casually in a humorous way and also entertained viewers with his satirical one-liners.

This heart-to-heart conversation, at Delhi, says a lot about the Prime Minister and his lifestyle. Modi said..

– I got fluent in speaking Hindi during my tea-selling days. I used to sell tea at railway stations and heard people talking in perfect Hindi.

– I drink tea early in the morning at 5 AM. I also never celebrated Diwali.

– I don’t get time to watch films now as a PM. But I used to watch when I was in my village.

– My first international speech was a disaster and Sushma Swaraj helped me with a written speech. However, I’m not comfortable with written speeches. I go with the flow.

– I used to wash my clothes until I became CM of Gujarat. But full sleeved Kurtas used to take a lot of time in washing. Hence, I settled for half-sleeved kurtas now.

– My mother still sends me money but she never asks in return.

– I totally believe in Ayurveda. It does miracles. I drink warm water and fast when I catch old.

– Barack Obama always asks me the question- “why do you sleep less?”, every time we meet. I sleep only 4 hours a day.

– After becoming PM, I gave the money which came as a salary of CM for the education to the daughter of peon and driver of the secretariat.

– As a PM, I have to control my anger and this surprises everyone thinking that I never get angry. I undergo anger management every now and then.

– I love eating mangoes a lot. I used to not have enough money to buy mangoes.

Later, Modi tweeted on his Twitter handle that, “Dear Akshay Kumar, it was good talking to you about everything, except politics and elections. I’m sure people would like watching our conversation”.
