It is known that Chief Minister KCR-led Telangana govt. has undertaken the noble initiative of ‘Haritha Haaram’ programme in order to make the state flourish with greenery. As part of this programme, crores of saplings are being planted every year in the state. In July this year, KCR started the programme in Karimnagar district and he also planting a sapling.
Now, the issue of the KCR-planted Sapling getting dried and eventually dying has become a topic of discussion in social media. Locals are attributing this incident to the negligence of concerned authorities whereas the officials have a different story to tell.
As per reports, the watchman on duty has informed that the sapling died due to the ill activities performed by some unidentified miscreants. He divulged that a few youth, in inebriated condition, stopped at the plant a week ago, and did something which he couldn’t see properly. ‘They left after having an argument with me when I confronted them. The plant started dying from the immediate next morning,’ he said.
When the issue had recently gone viral on social media, authorities reportedly visited the plant and made unsuccessful efforts of saving it. People wonder what might be the situation of the other saplings if the authorities couldn’t protect even the sapling planted by the CM. They demand that authorities should start taking precautions at least now to safeguard other saplings.
