Ever since Nag Ashwin announced biopic on Mahanati Savitri, everybody thought it would be a tragic story. But after watching the teaser and other promotional videos released, it appears like the director has done extensive research since the childhood of the legendary actress. Her extravagant lifestyle and love life will be on focus. Savitri’s daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari is the one who helped the team with inputs from the memories that she cherished.
She shared some of them in her interview to a popular tabloid. Vijaya is excited about the film and is overwhelmed with pride. She recollects how her mother used to be strict. “Her stare was enough to scare us. Our studies used to be her first priority. She insisted us to learn Tamil literature. She wouldn’t tolerate mistreating maids. We all used to eat and play together. Every day was like a festival for us,” said Vijaya.
Talking about Savitri’s culinary skills, she said, “Amma was fond of cooking. She liked non-veg very much, she used to cook crab really delicious. She once made KFC like Chicken in those days itself. It was after my marriage, she learnt the recipe and made it for me.”
