In a shocking incident, former Karnataka Labour Minister C Gurunath committed suicide by jumping from the 2nd floor of Sagar Apollo Hospital building in Bengaluru today. Gurunath was 69. Police could not find the reason behind his extreme step and no suicide note was recovered.
Gurunath was a chronic diabetes patient and he was admitted to Sagar Apollo Hospital for treatment only a couple of days ago. Gurunath reportedly jumped off his room 214 on the 2nd floor of the hospital. Doctors treating Gurunath were supposed to discharge him soon.
Just a few minutes before the tragedy, Gurunath reportedly told his attendant to bring a doctor to his room. Soon after the boy left, the former minister jumped off his room and died on the spot after receiving severe injuries on his head and shoulder. The police are probing the matter.
