Election Survey : It’s A ‘Hung’ In Karnataka?

A pre-poll survey conducted by ABP has stated that Congress would emerge as the single largest party in Karnataka general elections. However, the survey predicted that Congress couldn’t form the government on its own and mostly the result would have a ‘Hung Assembly’.

As per the survey, ABP Survey

Congress to lead the poll results with 38 percent vote share, while the nearest rival would be the BJP with 33 percent vote share and the JD(S) to stood third, but may become the decision maker, with 22 percent vote share. The survey estimated that no party could form the government as no party would able to get the magic figure of 112 in an assembly of 225 constituencies.

It is predicted that the ruling Congress would get 97 seats out of 225, whereas BJP would be confined to 84 seats and JD(S) to settle at 37 seats. Though 37 is less, it is learnt that JD(S) to play vital role in formation of the government.

In the survey, 38 percent people opined that development would be possible only with Congress and 32 percent believed BJP on development and another 24 percent of people trusted on JD (S). Among the rural voters, 39 percent said to have shown interest towards Congress, 32 percent have hopes on BJP and another 23 percent votes on JD(S).

It is heard that majority of Lingayat voters are showing interest towards BJP and may likely to vote him.

Meanwhile, the people who participated in the Survey, opined 43 percent of people are impresed with Siddaramaiah’s work for good governance. Among the CM candidates, the survey found Siddaramaiah as best CM candidate with 43 percent and 27 percent towards Yadyurappa. and another 27 percent towards Siddaramaiah.
