EC serves notice to KCR on ‘Hindu Gaalu’ comment

Telangana CM KCR was served notices by the chief Election Commission of India (ECI) for allegedly making filthy comments against Hindus at an election campaign. Based on a complaint filed by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) state president M Rama Raju, the notices were served.

In his complaint, Rama Raju claimed KCR during his election campaign in Karimnagar on March 17th, reportedly said, “Ee Hindu Gaalu… Bondu Gaalu.. Dikkumalina Daridrapu Gaalu… Desham Lo Aggi Petale Gattar Levale…”. The EC in its notice said it had examined the English translation version of the speech and opined that these comments come under Election Code of Conduct which has the potential to disturb religious harmony.

Further the notices said, KCR should reply to them before April 12th 5 PM and failing to do so, the ECI is liable to take any action without any further intimation. But the notices served to KCR were as a star campaigner and president of TRS party and not as Telangana CM.

KCR in his speech has targeted BJP over Ram Mandir issue and the attacks on Dalits and minorities over transportation of cows. He said that the country has a lot more issues to deal with rather than construct of Ram Mandir on Ayodhya and welfare of cows.
