Don’t Violate Constitution: HC to Telangana

The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad, for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, hit out at the State government of Telangana over its continuous delay in filing counter to cases challenging its Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST).
The division bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar questioned the government that why it hasn’t filed any counter despite given chances three times. It also expressed its dissent over the attitude of Telangana government towards Court for its delay in filing counter affidavit.
This is not all. The High Court asked the government that why it has mentioned the date (1-11-1956) in the GO issued on FAST. It had earlier reminded the Telangana government that such attitude will lead to divisive tendencies.
The High Court bench said that the government must be careful while implementing such schemes as students from different parts of the country are studying in each and every State. Cautioning the government, High Court said that all of its policies should be under the Constitution of India and it said that it will not be silent if there are any violations of Indian Constitution.
