Fast unto death, this is a tool which is used very frequently by many people especially politicians to highlight some of their uses and again political mileage. Such acts have boosted the graph of many and Telangana CM KCR is one leader who changed the course of regionalism with his fast.
In the year 2009, KCR resorted to fast protesting against Hyderabad being termed as a free zone and after he relented, OU students breathed fire against KCR. Sensing that they may hijack the renewed movement, KCR immediately intensified his fast which led to the Centre conceding Telangana, only to formally approve it four years later.
Now with reports that Section 8 notification may be issued shortly by Centre to the Governor of AP & TS, Narsimhan, KCR is reportedly planning to re-enact his favourite weapon and use this once again as a tool to inflame passions and prove his worth at a politically tough time.
Sources say that if and when KCR plans for such deeksha, then even Babu’s men have convinced him to do so. In case Babu is silent, then the mileage he gained highlighting AP’s problems in Hyderabad for the first time may go unnoticed. So, Babu is also planning to sit on a fast.
