Bollywood has become synonymous with remakes lately. Just in recent times, we have witnessed a lot of South Indian movies getting remade. ‘Shehzada’ is a remake of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’, ‘Selfiee’ of Akshay Kumar and Emraaan Hashmi is a remake, ‘Bholaa’ which will release soon is a remake of ‘Khaidi’, ‘Jersey’ is a remake with same name and the same goes to ‘Vikram Vedha’. ‘HIT’ was also remade in Hindi with the same title.
On 7th April, there is another remake coming from the Hindi film industry and it is ‘Gumraah’. Starring Aditya Roy Kapoor in the lead, this film is a remake of the Tamil film ‘Thadam’ which had Arun Vijay playing the lead. It was made in Telugu as ‘RED’ and Ram Pothineni was the hero in it. The movie was a decent success at the box office with mixed responses from the critics.
‘Sita Ramam’ fame Mrunal Thakur is going to be seen as the police officer in the movie while Vardhan Ketkar is the director. A lot of remakes are not becoming successful in Bollywood lately. But the makers are constantly coming up with South Indian remakes and we need to wait and see how ‘Thadam’ remake ‘Gumraah’ turns out.
Aditya Roy Kapoor is known for his movies like ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Ok Jaanu’, ‘Malang’, ‘Fitoor’, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani’ and many more. He is one of the most handsome and underrated actors in the Hindi film industry. His last outing was a big failure and it is to be seen how ‘Gumraah’ turns out.
