Big Boss Winner Threatening Small Films?

This Friday it is going to be the release of nearly eight movies at Telugu box office, a suicidal clash of course. But some heroes and producers are said to be exerting pressure on theatre owners and other corporate establishments to allot them more screens. Here goes a talk going on in Film Nagar.

Among the big releases this Friday, we have Karthi’s Khakee, Siddharth’s Gruham and Maruthi’s production venture London Babulu. Along with these films, newcomer Goverdhan’s Prema Entha Madhuram Priyuralu antha Katinam, Prematho Mee Karthik, Raa Raa, Devi Sri Prasad and Lovers Club are releasing on November 17th. Joining these films is Siva Balaji’s ‘Snehamrea Jeevitham’ and winning Big Boss 1st season fetched his hero-producer some attention for this movie.

Talk is that Siva Balaji is forcing few theatre establishments to allot him more screens and he’s said to pressuring through a political biggie. Some theatres like Prasad’s IMAX have already made agreements with small films for 6 shows a day for 3 days and collected the rentals as well. But now, Siva Balaji is demanding those screens for his film saying that he has more attention and chances of footfalls than those films.

Those small filmmakers who paid advances and signed agreements are now standing in despair, with many theatre establishments bowing to Siva Balaji’s pressure, a source revealed. We have  to wait and see what happens to the number of screens and theatres of all those other movies in the fray.
