Days after announcing Rs 1500 Crore fund for Kapu community, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced Rs 1000 Crore fund for Muslims in the next fiscal year. Mr Naidu on Monday corroborated allocation of Rs 1000 crore towards the welfare of Muslims in the truncated state of Andhra Pradesh from the next Financial Year. The move is expected to woo Muslims in the state.
Chandrababu also said that a socio-economic survey would soon be conducted to estimate the living conditions of various backward and minority communities in the new state. Naidu assured that the state government would also allocate funds to other backward communities based on the survey and its recommendations. Naidu added that AP government is keenly working towards social justice.
However, political analysts say that this move would bring flak from TDP’s ally BJP which is dead against to allocating funds to religious communities. It needs to be seen how Naidu would defend his move and overcome this. On other hand, reports are rife that BJP would soon give shock to Mr Naidu in Telangana. What’s brewing Naidu?
